Great and unique athletic event for children on October 1st in Porto Carras!

A large multi-athletic event takes place on Monday, October 1, 2018 in Porto Carras, dedicated to children, with the participation of distinguished Greek champions such as the silver winner of 2018 European Athletics Championships at pole jump Nikol Kyriakopoulou, the former champion at high jump Niki Bakoyannis, the marathon runner Vassilis Zambelis, footballers of the European Champion Greek national team, Angelos Bassinas and Pantelis Kafes, and others.


Porto Carras Grand Resort organizes a whole day dedicated to sports activities, giving the event the name ZOE (in Greek means life) as a social contribution to children and sports & athletic life, while dedicating it to the memory of the recently deceased Zoe Stengou, vice-president of the group of companies owned by Porto Carras, his wife Chairman of the Group Mr. Constantinos Stengos.


The purpose of the event is to bring the children together with athletes and champions of various sports to inspire and put sport into their lives.


In particular, on Monday 1 October 2018 there will be “sports stations” in Porto Carras’ outdoor venues, where distinguished athletes will invite children to test their strengths and talents and generally to experience an unprecedented sporting experience that will help to build on the high values that come from sport.


“Sports stations” for athletics, soccer, basketball, pole jump, high jump, cycling, handball, boxing, horse riding, golf and the “kids athletics set” for skills discernment will be available to school pupils from the wider region of Halkidiki for participation while 80m and 600m running races will also be organized and prizes will be awarded.


Porto Carras invited all schools in Halkidiki and Thessaloniki to participate as the event is addressed to schoolchildren of the fifth and sixth elementary schools and the initiative has already been welcomed with enthusiasm and participation by many schools
